Today, a swimming competition was held among employees of SOCAR enterprises and joint ventures dedicated to the “Year of Constitution and Sovereignty” with the joint organization of the “Neftchi” Sports Club and the Social Development Department. 64 participants (21 women, 43 men) from 14 teams competed in the tournament organized in the pool of the “Astoria” Fitness and Spa Center. The competition was held separately for men and women in individual, team and mixed relay events with freestyle swimming. Participants competed by swimming a distance of 50 meters.
The main purpose of the tournament was to effectively organize the leisure time of oil workers, promote a healthy lifestyle among them, achieve mass participation in sports, as well as determine the composition of the SOCAR national swimming team to participate in the republican competitions to be held among other organizations.
The athletes who took 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in individual and team competitions were awarded diplomas, medals, and valuable souvenirs by the \u201cNeftchi\u201d Sports Club.
