The football team of the “Neftchi” Sports Club, consisting of fourteen-year-olds, qualified for the quarterfinals of the Azerbaijan Championship organized by AFFA.
Our representative again faced the “Metak” (Gusar) team in the second leg of the round of 16. The main time of the match, which took place in an interesting and tense atmosphere, ended with the opponent’s advantage of 1:0. Since our team won the first game of the stage with a score of 2:1, the total score was equal – 2:2. For this reason, extra time was needed to determine the winner. In the 105th minute of the match, Ibrahim Jalalov scored the equalizer for the “Neftchi” team. Thus, Araz Aliyev’s team, which took the lead 3:2 on aggregate, secured a place in the quarterfinals.
It should be noted that the opponent of our representative in the quarterfinals will be the “Sabah” team.
