The U-17 European Championship in wrestling continues in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia. On the second day of the competition, the first medalists in Greco-Roman wrestling were determined.
Greco-Roman wrestler Rihad Ibrahimli (110 kg), who is represented by the Azerbaijani national team of the “Neftchi” Sports Club, fought confidently and advanced to the final. He faced Bulgarian Denis Lazarov in the decisive match. Our athlete won by “touchdown” over his opponent and became the European champion.
Our other representative, Gurban Majnunov (48 kg), defeated Greek Nikolaos Zinisa with a score of 4:1 in the match for third place and was awarded a bronze medal.
