The U-20 European Wrestling Championship held in Caorle, Italy, has concluded.
The freestyle wrestlers of “Neftchi” Sports Club, who are part of the Azerbaijani national team, fought confidently on the last day of the prestigious competition and won 3 medals. One of our wrestlers, Yusif Dursunov (125 kg), lost only in the final and won a silver medal. Omar Gulmammadov (74 kg) and Anar Jafarli (92 kg) took the third place.
It should be noted that earlier, one of our Greco-Roman wrestlers, Davud Mammadov (77 kg), won a silver medal, and Faraim Mustafayev (67 kg) won a bronze medal. Among our female wrestlers, Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg) and Ruzanna Mammadova (62 kg) became European champions.
