The U-17 World Wrestling Championship continues in Athens, the capital of Greece.
Greco-Roman wrestler Abdurrahman Huseynli (45 kg), who is part of the Azerbaijani national team of the “Neftchi” Sports Club, won the bronze medal of the World Cup. Our representative defeated American Thales Silva with a score of 6:3 in the first match and advanced to the quarterfinals. At this stage, he defeated Georgian Saba Abashidze with a score of 9:6 and qualified for the semifinals. Our athlete lost to Kyrgyz Nurkerim Kumarbekov with a score of 0:7 in the semifinals. Abdurrahman Huseynli became the third in the world by defeating Ukrainian Timur Maharramov with a complete advantage (9:0) in the match for the bronze medal.
