The wrestlers of the “Neftchi” Sports Club have achieved great success at the III CIS Games. At the wrestling competition held at the Ganja Olympic Sports Complex, all of our athletes representing the club won medals. Our wrestlers fought confidently and secured a total of 7 medals (1 gold, 4 silver, 2 bronze) at the III CIS Games.

In freestyle wrestling, Nihad Abasov (71 kg) defeated all his opponents and claimed the top spot on the podium. Hajihuseyn Ahmadzada (51 kg), Rashid Nazarov (60 kg), Hussein Ismailov (65 kg), and Hakim Tagiyev (110 kg) won silver medals, while Amin Nasibov (92 kg) earned a bronze medal.

Our female wrestler, Esra Mammadli (57 kg), finished in third place.

It is worth noting that earlier, our sambists secured 1 gold, 1 silver, and 1 bronze medal at the CIS Games, while our boxers earned 4 bronze medals. Another of our boxers, Safdar Mammadzada, will compete in the final tomorrow.
