The III CIS Games hosted by Azerbaijan have concluded.
Representatives of the “Neftchi” Sports Club demonstrated great determination and won 17 medals (3 gold, 7 silver, 7 bronze) of the competition.
At the CIS Games, our sambo wrestlers won 3 (1 gold, 1 silver, 1 bronze), our wrestlers 7 (1 gold, 4 silver, 2 bronze), and our boxers 5 (1 gold, 4 bronze) medals. In each of the fencing and shooting sports, 1 silver medal was won.
It should be noted that our club was represented in the tournament with 20 athletes in 7 sports.
It should be noted that 1,624 athletes and 2,337 representatives from 13 countries participated in the III CIS Games. The tournament was represented by 340 athletes from Azerbaijan, 4 from Pakistan, 262 from Russia, 254 from Uzbekistan, 240 from Belarus, 147 from Kazakhstan, 144 from Tajikistan, 126 from Kyrgyzstan, 48 from Turkmenistan, 38 from Turkey, 11 from Cuba, 6 from Kuwait, and 4 from Oman.
It should be added that the Azerbaijani national team finished the III CIS Games in second place with 184 (33 gold, 56 silver, 95 bronze) medals.
