A boxing tournament dedicated to the Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Honored Worker of Science, holder of the “Shohrat”, “Sharaf” and 1st degree “For Service to the Fatherland” orders, Professor Agajan Abiyev was held at the Boxing Center.
The athletes of the “Neftchi” Sports Club won 8 medals (2 gold, 1 silver, 5 bronze) in the competition.

Our boxers Ali Aliyev (57 kg) and Ibrahim Tarverdiyev (+90 kg) won all their fights and climbed to the top of the podium. Only Shakir Najafov (60 kg), who lost in the decisive final match, was awarded a silver medal. Our other athletes – Boyukaga Baylarov (38 kg), Yavar Gurbanli (40 kg), Alakbar Mammadli (44 kg), Balahad Bagirli (48 kg) and Alisalim Safarov (54 kg) took third place.
