The second round of the U-17 Judo “Talent Selection” competition has ended. 265 athletes (222 boys, 43 girls) from 64 clubs and sports societies participated in the tournament organized at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex.

The athletes of the “Neftchi” Sports Club won 4 medals in the competition. Among them, Aykhan Hasanli (81 kg) became the winner of the tournament without losing. Zahra Ibadova (+70 kg) won silver, and Lala Yadigarli (63 kg) and Harun Atashov (81 kg) won bronze medals.

It should be noted that the purpose of the “Talent Selection” tournament is to form a healthy sub-base of the national team, identify promising athletes who are candidates for the national team, and form a stable reserve base. The athletes who finish in the top four places in each weight class in the final rankings of the two rounds will be involved in the “Hope of the Future” training program.
