The U-15 Azerbaijan Championship in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling held at the Gazakh Olympic Sports Complex has concluded. The “Neftchi” Sports Club’s athletes won 13 medals (7 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze) of the competition.

Our freestyle wrestlers Yusif Abdullayev (38 kg) and Yusif Badalov (68 kg) defeated all their rivals and became the champions of the republic. Elgun Gurbanzade (52 kg) took second place, and Ali Rajabov (48 kg) took third place.

The club’s Greco-Roman wrestlers Punhan Shahmarov (48 kg), Sadiq Velizade (57 kg), Raul Mammadzade (62 kg), Suleyman Verdiyev (75 kg) and Elvin Najafzade (85 kg) fought confidently and won. Farid Aghayev (41 kg) and Khalid Mammadli (85 kg) won silver medals, while Salavat Afyatulin (57 kg) and Asiman Mammadov (57 kg) won bronze medals.

It should be noted that the Greco-Roman wrestlers of the “Neftchi” Sports Club took second place in the overall team standings.
