Today, three Greco-Roman wrestlers of “Neftchi” Sports Club, representing our national team, competed for bronze medals at the European Championship held in Tirana, the capital of Albania: Rashad Mammadov (55 kg), Islam Abbasov (87 kg), and Beka Kandelaki (130 kg). Our athletes Rashad Mammadov defeated Turkish wrestler Omar Halis Recep (8:0), while Islam Abbasov beat Turkish wrestler Dogan Kaya (5:1), earning places on the third step of the podium. Beka Kandelaki, however, lost to Ukrainian wrestler Mykhailo Vyshnivetskyi (1:5) and finished the competition without a medal.
