The 29th International Memorial Tournament dedicated to Honored Coach Afgan Safarov has concluded. The event was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Azerbaijan Athletics Federation, with the support of World Athletics. Nearly 80 athletes showcased their skills at the tournament, which was held at the stadium of the Azerbaijan Sports Academy.

Among the athletes representing “Neftchi” Sports Club, Lamiya Valiyeva won gold medals in both the 100-meter (11.94 seconds) and 200-meter (24.81 seconds) races, outperforming all of her competitors.

Meanwhile, Ismayil Aliyev achieved the same success in the shot put event, claiming the gold medal with a throw of 17.42 meters and securing the top place on the podium.
