At the European Parajudo Championship held in Heidelberg, Germany, the representative of the “Neftchi” Sports Club, Ilham Zakiyev (J1, +95 kg), fought confidently and won the gold medal. In the semi-final, Ilham Zakiyev, who faced Great Britain’s Daniel English, defeated his opponent by ippon and advanced to the final. In the decisive match, our athlete also won by ippon over Spaniard Garros Suarez and became the European champion.

With this result, Ilham Zakiyev won the title of European champion for the 10th time in his career.

Other parajudo athletes of our club – Saleh Sultanov (J1, 81 kg), Khatira Ismiyeva (J1, +70 kg) and Dursadaf Karimova (J2, +70 kg) won the bronze medal of the tournament.
