The U-20 World Wrestling Championships held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, have concluded.

“Neftchi” Sports Club’s athletes demonstrated great determination throughout the tournament, finishing the World Championships with six medals — one gold, three silver and two bronze.

In Greco-Roman wrestling, Ayxan Javadov (60 kg) defeated all of his opponents to become world champion. Another representative of the club in this discipline, Elmin Aliyev (82 kg), won the bronze medal.

In the women’s wrestling competition, Gunay Gurbanova (57 kg) and Ruzanna Mammadova (59 kg) finished second on the podium, winning silver medals.

In freestyle wrestling, Haji Karimov (70 kg) claimed silver, while Yusif Dursunov (125 kg) won the bronze medal.
