Another Greco-Roman wrestler from the “Neftchi” Sports Club won an award at the World Wrestling Championship held in the capital of Croatia, Zagreb. Our athlete Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) lost to Iranian Olympic champion Said Esmaili with a score of 1:2 in the final and won a silver medal at the World Championship.
Recall that previously, one of our Greco-Roman wrestlers, Ulvi Ganizada (72 kg), became the world champion. Murad Ahmadiyev (97 kg) and Eldaniz Azizli (55 kg) won bronze medals. Among our freestyle wrestlers, Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg) won silver, and Nuraddin Novruzov (61 kg) and Arseniy Dzhioyev (86 kg) won bronze medals.
