Sanan Suleymanov, a Greco-Roman wrestler representing Neftchi Sports Club, has become a world champion. Competing in the 77 kg weight category, the Azerbaijani wrestler faced Moldova’s Alexandrin Gutu in the decisive final bout of the World Wrestling Championships held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. Defeating his opponent 8–3, Sanan Suleymanov claimed the world title for the first time in his career.

It is worth noting that shortly before this, another representative of the club, Eldaniz Azizli (55 kg), also won gold at the World Championships.
