The U-20 World Wrestling Championships are currently taking place in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.

Representing the Azerbaijan national team at the competition, Neftçi Sports Club Greco-Roman wrestler Ayxan Cavadov (60 kg) once again demonstrated great determination and won the gold medal. Advancing confidently to the final, our representative defeated Uzbekistan’s Dostonbek Oripov 4–1 in the decisive bout to claim the top step of the podium. With this result, Ayxan Cavadov successfully defended his title and became U-20 world champion for the second consecutive time.

Another Greco-Roman wrestler from the club, Elmin Aliyev (82 kg), won the bronze medal at the prestigious competition. He defeated Türkiye’s İsmayıl Bərəkət 7–1 in the bout for third place.
