Today, the Grand Slam judo tournament started in Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan.
On the first day of the competition, Balabey Aghayev (60 kg), a judoka from “Neftchi” Sports Club, representing the Azerbaijani national team, successfully performed and became the winner of the tournament. Our athlete defeated Ajity Dombuu (IJF) in the round of 16, followed by Anvarjon Ibrohimov from Uzbekistan. He defeated Ariunbold Enkhtayvan (Mongolia) in the semifinals. Balabey Aghayev defeated local athlete Muhammadsoleh Guvatov in the final and won the gold medal.
