The Azerbaijan Championship among men and women boxers has concluded. 166 athletes from 33 teams representing clubs and sports societies from various cities and regions of the country participated in the competition held at the Baku Boxing Center.
Boxers of “Neftchi” Sports Club fought confidently and won 13 medals of the national championship and took first place in the overall team score.
One of our athletes, Emili Rzayeva (60 kg), defeated all her rivals in the women’s competition and won the gold medal. Aysu Ismayilova (48 kg) took third place.
In the men’s competition, Nijat Huseynov (55 kg), Mahammadali Ashiraliyev (60 kg), Nabi Isgandarov (70 kg), Murad Allahverdiyev (80 kg) and Rauf Rahimov (90 kg) won all their fights and became the national champions. Malik Hasanov (65 kg) and Sarkhan Aliyev (70 kg) won silver, while Yusif Soltanov (50 kg), Tayfur Aliyev (60 kg), Taghi Nasibov (60 kg) and Bayram Ahmadov (90 kg) won bronze.
