
The final match and closing ceremony of the SOCAR-2025 Mini Football Tournament were held with the support of SOCAR, the joint organization of the “Neftchi” Sports Club, the Social Development Department, and the Trade Union Committee of Azerbaijan Oil and Gas Industry Workers.
The event, organized at the Baku Tennis Academy, began with the match for third place between the teams of “Neftgastikinti” Trust and “SOCAR Polymer” Plant. In a tight contest, the “SOCAR Polymer” Plant team defeated their opponents 4:3 and secured third place.
Following that, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played, and a minute of silence was observed in honor of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country. A video clip dedicated to the tournament was then shown.
The final match kicked off next, with the teams of “Balakhani” Operational Company and “Azneft” Production Association facing off. In a highly competitive and attacking game, the “Balakhani” Operational Company team won 5:0, becoming the champions of the tournament, while the “Azneft” Production Association team was awarded silver medals.
The closing ceremony was held, and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams were awarded trophies, certificates, and medals. Additionally, the winners of the special nominations were also honored. Namig Gocayev from the “Neftgastikinti” Trust team was named the “Most Productive Player,” while Elshad Mustafazada from the “Balakhani” Operational Company team won the “Best Goalkeeper” award. The referees of the final match, Mahir Mammadov and Hikmat Gafarli were also recognized.
The awards were presented by Zaur Gahramanov, the advisor to the president of SOCAR, Tural Mammadov, the head of the Social Development Department, Rufat Zamanov, the chairman of the Trade Union Committee of Azerbaijan Oil and Gas Industry Workers, and Rafael Naghiyev, the vice president of “Balakhani” Operational Company.
