The U-17 World Wrestling Championship continues in Athens, the capital of Greece.
Huseyn Ismayilov (65 kg), a freestyle wrestler from the “Neftchi” Sports Club, who is represented in the Azerbaijani national team, fought confidently and advanced to the final. Our athlete faced American Arseniy Kikinyov in the decisive match. In the match, which took place in a tense fight, Huseyn Ismayilov defeated his opponent on the last point principle (1:1) and became the world champion.
It should be noted that previously, another freestyle wrestler from our club, Hakim Tagiyev (110 kg) and Greco-Roman wrestler Abdurrahman Huseynli (45 kg), won the bronze medal of the World Cup.
