The VI World Nomad Games, being held in Kyrgyzstan, are underway. The prestigious competition, which has brought together more than 100 countries, features 43 ethnic and traditional sports.

Ariz Huseynov, a representative of “Neftçi” Sports Club competing as part of the Azerbaijani national team, has delivered a successful performance and secured a place among the medalists. Competing in the 80 kg weight category in Alysh wrestling, our athlete won a bronze medal, taking third place on the podium. This was the Azerbaijani team’s first medal at the tournament.

It should be noted that 10 Azerbaijani athletes are representing the country in nine sports (Alysh, Kyrgyz kuresh, guresh, wrestling, Pahlavan wrestling, Kazakh kuresi, guresh, mas-wrestling and Mangala) at the VI World Nomad Games. Six of them are representatives of “Neftçi” Sports Club.
