The U-17 World Beach Wrestling Championship was held in Katerini, Greece. 170 athletes from 26 countries competed for the title of winner.
Representatives of the “Neftchi” Sports Club won 2 gold medals at the World Cup.
Our female athlete Ulviyya Musayeva (55 kg) defeated a Polish wrestler in the semifinals and a Japanese wrestler in the finals, rising to the highest step of the podium. With this, she made history as our first world champion among girls in beach wrestling.
Another athlete, Nihad Suleymanli (80 kg), achieved the same success. Our representative, who defeated an Iranian wrestler in the semifinals and a Georgian wrestler in the finals, became the winner of the world championship.
