Vusal Aliyev (80 kg), a graduate of the “Neftchi” Sports Club, successfully performed in the 4th stage of the Beach Wrestling World Series held in the Greek city of Katerini. Our athlete, who was in Group A, advanced to the quarterfinals as the second place winner. Vusal Aliyev, who won over Moldovan Gabriel Oyog and Iranian Abdullah Sheikhazami to enter the finals, lost to another Iranian representative, Ali Gholami, in the decisive match and was awarded the silver medal of the tournament.
It should be noted that the final stage of the World Series will be held in Alexandria, Egypt on October 18-19. The world champions in each weight category will be determined in that competition and the beach wrestling season will be concluded.
