The semi-final fights in the boxing competitions of the VI Islamic Solidarity Games held in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh, have ended.

The representative of the “Neftchi” Sports Club, Sarkhan Aliyev (70 kg), was defeated at this stage and was awarded the bronze medal of the prestigious competition.

Our other boxer, Saidjamshid Jafarov (80 kg), was stronger than Hussein Iashaish (Jordan) in the semi-finals – 5:0 (30:27, 29:28, 30:27, 29:28, 29:28). He will face Sultan Osmanli (Turkey) in the match for the gold medal.
