The traditional “Great Silk Road” international tournament held in Baku among male and female boxers has concluded.
Athletes of the “Neftchi” Sports Club performed confidently and won 7 medals of the competition (2 gold, 1 silver, 4 bronze).
Our boxers Tayfur Aliyev (60 kg) and Malik Hasanov (65 kg) emerged victorious in all their fights and became the tournament winners. Only Mahammadali Ashiraliyev (60 kg), who lost in the decisive final match, was awarded a silver medal. Our other athletes – Emili Rzayeva (65 kg), Sarkhan Aliyev (70 kg), Saidjamshid Jafarov (75 kg) and Murad Allahverdiyev (85 kg) took the third step of the podium.
It should be noted that 126 athletes from 10 countries competed for medals in the 6-day competition held at the Baku Boxing Center.
