The Paris Judo Grand Slam kicked off today in the French capital. Competing as part of the Azerbaijan national team,
“Neftchi” Sports Club judokas won one gold and one bronze medal on the opening day.

Balabay Aghayev (60 kg) claimed the gold medal after defeating Ukraine’s Dilshot Khalmatov in the final. Ruslan Pashayev (66 kg) secured the bronze medal.

The Grand Slam tournament will conclude on February 8.
