Representatives of the “Neftchi” Sports Club successfully performed at the European Parajudo Championship held in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. Our Paralympic athlete Ilham Zakiyev (J1, +95 kg) won gold, and Dursadaf Karimova (J2, +70 kg) won silver.

Our eight-time European champion Ilham Zakiyev won the European champion title for the ninth time in his career by defeating Moldovan Oleg Cretulu in the 1/4 finals, Turkish Gökhan Bizeri in the semifinals, and Moldovan Ion Basoc in the finals by ippon.

Dursadaf Karimova won the silver medal of the European Championship by ippon in the round-robin competition over Spanish Maria Fernandez, Georgian Ina Kaldani, and Great Britain’s Kirsten Taylor.
