The European Youth Paralympic Games in Istanbul continue.
Although the 17-year-old parajudoka of the “Neftchi” Sports Club, Omar Gurbanov (J2, 62 kg), lost in the 1/4 finals, he defeated his Spanish and Moldovan rivals in two consecutive consolation fights, and a Turkish athlete in the bronze medal match, taking third place.
Our 16-year-old parajudoka, Huseyn Ismayilzadeh (J2, 70 kg), defeated his Turkish and British rivals in the round-robin format and won the bronze medal of the tournament.
It should be noted that previously, our club’s parataekwondo player Sabir Zeynalov (K44, 58 kg) was the winner of the competition.
