The Azerbaijan sambo championships and championships among juniors, youth and adults were held at the Absheron Olympic Sports Complex.

The players of the “Neftchi” Sports Club performed confidently and won 19 medals (12 gold, 2 silver, 5 bronze) of the tournament.

Among juniors, Yusif Aliyev (64 kg), Elvin Eldarov (71 kg) and Elgun Shirelizadeh (79 kg) won all matches and experienced the joy of the national championship. In the youth competition, Sadig Nadirov (79 kg), Rasul Arzumanov (88 kg), Tuncay Shamil (98 kg) and Hajibaba Imamaliyev (+98 kg) repeated the same success and climbed to the highest step of the podium. Elvin Eldarov (71 kg) won silver, and Nurlan Najafov (79 kg) and Huseyn Masimov (98 kg) won bronze medals.

Among the seniors, Sahib Babayev (58 kg), Ricad Nadirov (79 kg), Adil Adilzade (88 kg), Aghani Mammadov (98 kg) and Mahammad Mammadzade (+98 kg) were undefeated and won gold medals. Rajab Tofikov (58 kg) came in second, while Nijat Ismayilov (64 kg), Ahmad Aghayev (79 kg) and Shamil Tuncay (98 kg) took third place.
