Greco-Roman wrestler Ziya Babashov of the “Neftchi” Sports Club became the winner of the U-23 World Championship held in Novi Sad, Serbia. Our athlete, who competed in the sixty-three kilogram weight category, won the gold medal by defeating Moldovan Vitaliy Yeryomenko with a score of 6:3 in the decisive final match.
It should be noted that another Greco-Roman wrestler of our club, Elmir Aliyev (55 kg), secured a place in the final. He will compete in the decisive match tomorrow.
