The Absheron-Khizi Regional Championship for U-14 and U-17 judokas was held at the Sumgayit Olympic Sports Complex.

A total of 406 judokas took part in the competition, including athletes representing the Sumgayit branch of “Neftchi” Sports Club.

In the U-17 category, our athletes Yaghmur Ahmadzada (57 kg), Sama Valizada (63 kg), Harun Atashov (81 kg) and Nihad Malikli (+90 kg) won all their bouts and became regional champions. Lala Yadigarli (57 kg), Vusala Maharramli (63 kg) and Turan Ganbarli (81 kg) finished in second place, while Shahana Ibrahimzada (57 kg), Ravan Abushzade (55 kg) and Ibrahim Hasanov (+90 kg) claimed third place.

In the U-14 competition, our young judoka Davud Aliyev (55 kg) defeated all of his opponents to win the gold medal. Mirsadiq Babayev (55 kg) earned a silver medal, while Fatima Akbarova (36 kg), Zumrud Guliyeva (40 kg) and Zahra Rahimli (40 kg) were awarded bronze medals.
