The World Wrestling Championship continues in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. The freestyle wrestlers from “Neftchi” Sports Club fought confidently and kicked off the championship with 3 medals.

Among the athletes representing our country, Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg) lost to Iranian Olympic medalist and World Champion Amir Zare in the final and secured the silver medal in this prestigious competition.

Nuraddin Novruzov (61 kg) triumphed over Kum Kim from North Korea with a “tush” in the match for third place, earning the bronze medal.

Another wrestler, Arseniy Djioyev (86 kg), defeated French wrestler Rakhim Magamadov with a 7-0 score in the battle for third place and became the World Championship bronze medalist.
