“Neftchi” Sports Club’s freestyle wrestlers competed confidently at the U-20 World Wrestling Championships in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, winning two medals.

Haji Karimov (70 kg) lost to Iran’s Sina Mehdi Khalili 3:7 in the final and claimed the silver medal. Yusif Dursunov (125 kg), meanwhile, defeated Georgia’s Aleksandre Abramishvili 6:0 in the bronze-medal bout to finish third in the world.

It should be noted that earlier, “Neftchi” Sports Club’s Greco-Roman wrestlers Ayxan Javadov (60 kg) won gold, while Elmin Aliyev (82 kg) claimed bronze. Among the women’s wrestlers, Gunay Gurbanova (57 kg) and Ruzanna Mammadova (59 kg) also won silver medals after finishing second on the podium.
