“Neftchi” Sports Club’s Greco-Roman wrestler Elmir Aliyev (55 kg) achieved great success at the U-23 World Championship held in Novi Sad, Serbia. Our wrestler defeated Russian Alibek Amirova (UWW) 3:2 in the final match and became the world champion. Ruslan Nurullayev (72 kg) was awarded the bronze medal.
It should be noted that previously, another Greco-Roman wrestler of our club, Ziya Babashov (60 kg), also won a gold medal at the World Championship.
