The volleyball tournament dedicated to September 20 – Oil Workers’ Day, organized by the “Neftchi” Sports Club among employees of oil, gas, and chemical industry enterprises, has concluded. A total of 130 oil industry workers (40 women and 90 men), representing 13 teams, competed in the tournament. The first two days of the competition were held at the Mashal Sports Complex, while the final and third-place matches took place today at the Volleyball Center of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

The main purpose of the tournament was to celebrate Oil Workers’ Day at a high level, promote a healthy lifestyle among industry employees, and strengthen friendship and solidarity among SOCAR teams.

Following intense competition, the winners were determined.

Among the women’s teams, the Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery team won the tournament. The Oil Pipelines Department finished second, while the “Azerkimya” Production Union took third place.

In the men’s competition, the “BOS Shelf” team won the gold medal. The Heydar Aliyev Oil Refinery finished second, while the Gas Export Department took third place.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Faraj Aliyev, Executive Director of the “Neftchi” Sports Club, congratulated the participants on their professional holiday, thanked them for their active participation in the competition, and wished them success in their future endeavors.

The winning teams were then presented with cups, diplomas, and medals.
