The Republican Throws Tournament dedicated to the memory of Honoured Coach Hajibaba Zeynalov has been held.

Representing Neftchi Sports Club, Lala Janiyeva won the women’s discus throw event with a mark of 41.51 metres, claiming the gold medal. She also secured the silver medal in the shot put with a throw of 10.06 metres. Another of our female athletes, Margarita Gornostayeva, finished third in the women’s javelin throw with a distance of 17.12 metres.

In the men’s competition, Ibrahim Bandarli claimed the silver medal in the shot put with a throw of 11.13 metres, while Mikhail Gornostayev earned silver in the javelin throw with a mark of 20.10 metres. Our other athlete, Karim Gayibov, took third place in the javelin throw, recording a distance of 18.57 metres.
