“Neftchi” Sports Club women’s wrestler Jala Aliyeva finished among the medalists at the European Wrestling Championship held in Tirana, the capital of Albania. Competing in the 57 kg weight category, our athlete defeated Arina Demchanka (UWW) by fall (“tuş”) in the bronze medal match and claimed the bronze medal.

It should be noted that in the previous days of the championship, another women’s wrestler of our club, Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg), also achieved the same success and won a bronze medal.

Among our Greco-Roman wrestlers, Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) and Gurban Gurbanov (82 kg) won gold medals, while Rashad Mammadov (55 kg), Nihat Mammadli (60 kg), and Islam Abbasov (87 kg) secured bronze medals.
