The U20 European Wrestling Championship, held in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, has concluded.

On the final day of the competition, the freestyle wrestlers of the “Neftchi” Sports Club won four more medals.

Among our representatives, Jamal Abbasov (61 kg) lost to Russia’s Usman Indirbayev (2:13) in the final, while Nurlan Agazade (74 kg) was defeated by Germany’s Manuel Vagin (2:4) in the decisive bout. Both athletes earned silver medals.

Mahammad Abbaszade (86 kg) defeated Israel’s Tomer Drojnyak with a score of 7:1 in the bronze medal bout, securing third place.

In the 125 kg final, Yusif Dursunov faced Russia’s Soslan Gabuyev. The final was a tense and competitive encounter. After falling behind 0:3, our athlete showed great determination and produced an impressive comeback. With a final score of 4:3, Yusif Dursunov claimed victory and became the European champion.
