An open republican sambo tournament dedicated to the memory of martyrs of the First Karabakh War, Aghliman Aghayev and Sanan Rustamov, was held at the Aghdam Olympic Sports Complex. The event was organized jointly by the regional executive authority, the Azerbaijan Sambo Federation, and the Karabakh Regional Youth and Sports Department. A total of 112 athletes from 16 teams competed in the tournament.

Sambo athletes representing Neftchi Sports Club won a total of 11 medals (7 gold, 3 silver, and 1 bronze).

Among the gold medalists were Sadiq Ahmed (53 kg), Murad Ismayilzade (58 kg), Yusif Aliyev (64 kg), Huseyn Guliyev (79 kg), Elgun Shiralizade (88 kg), Nihad Guliyev (98 kg), and Huseyn Muradov (+98 kg), all of whom defeated their opponents to claim first place.

Other representatives of the club, Ali Akhundov (53 kg), Nihad Dayanov (58 kg), and Rovlan Ashirli (64 kg), won silver medals, while Sahib Ibrahimli (53 kg) took bronze.
